Policy · Sponsored listings
How sponsored listings work.
Certian keeps the record and never makes the call — we do not provide legal, insurance, or consulting advice. Where an instrument surfaces a need for professional advice, independent professionals may hold a sponsored listing. This page is the complete policy governing those listings.
The terms — identical for everyone
Every listing is a flat fee
Sponsors pay a fixed periodic fee. There is no per-lead, per-client, per-referral, or per-placement component of any kind. No part of any fee is ever contingent on any outcome.
Identical rates within each category
Every firm in a category pays the same rate at the same time. There is no premium tier, no pay-more-appear-higher, and no exclusive capture of a category. Listings within a category are displayed on equal footing.
Sponsorship buys presence, never placement
Sponsors have no influence over editorial content, instrument logic, comparisons, rankings, or the record itself. Sponsored listings are spatially separate from all editorial content and always labeled.
What "sponsored" discloses — and what it doesn't
Disclosure means the existence and nature of the paid relationship: every sponsored listing is labeled as such on the page where it appears. Fee amounts are commercial terms and are not published — consistent with standard practice across directories and publications.
Sponsors are independent of Certian
Listed professionals are not partners, agents, or affiliates of Certian, Inc. Certian does not endorse, recommend, or rank them, and receives nothing from any engagement a reader may enter with them. Where a practice connected to Certian's founder is listed, it appears under identical terms and identical labeling as every other listing, and is additionally identified as founder-connected.
Regulated professions, regulated shapes
Arrangements with law firms are flat sponsorship or advertising only — never fee-splitting or referral fees tied to engagements. Insurance-adjacent arrangements are flat and non-contingent; licensed brokers and carriers handle all placement. Certian sells no insurance and refers no client for compensation contingent on any policy.
Categories
Listings are organized by profession, matched to the instrument where the need arises. Multiple professionals per category is the standing structure.
Certification bodies are deliberately not eligible for sponsored listings: Certian compares certifiers editorially, and selling them visibility adjacent to that comparison would compromise the register's neutrality.
